The Pro 11 Coaches

Peter Mountford is an ex-professional footballer who played for Norwich City, Charlton Athletic, Swansea and Leyton Orient. His father also played professionally which inspired Peter to achieve his dreams of playing football as a profession. He made his Norwich City debut against Chelsea FC in 1982. After 5 years at Norwich City, Peter moved to Charlton Athletic in 1983, scoring on his debut with a superb left-footed volley.

Peter was a combative and determined midfielder, never afraid of putting in a strong tackle, qualities that served him well during his time at Leyton Orient, for whom he scored 2 goals before leaving the Club in 1985.

Peter's career was also blighted by injuries. After being hailed as an excellent prospect at the age of 17, he was rewarded with a 4 year contract at Norwich City on his 18th birthday. Peter scored a fine goal soon after that but then broke his leg in the very same game, the injury putting paid to his First Team chances for the next 3 years. Five years later, in 1983, Peter broke his other leg, the injury putting him out for most of that Season with Charlton Athletic.

Pete's wealth of experience and eye for talent has led him into coaching. He has worked at Charlton Athletic and has completed the FA Youth Module qualification. Pete's ability to understand players and create the perfect environment will be of great benefit to Pro11. Pete Believes that 'Talent is nothing without commitment, hard work and dedication'.
