Pro11 Academy and Al Habsi Academy Challenge Match
On Friday the 20th of April 2018, the Pro11 Football Academy took on the Al Habsi Football Academy in 2 challenge matches, one for the younger players and one for the older players.
The matches were played at the Sultan's School in Seeb, where both Academies are based.
The younger boys drew 1-1, Pro11 taking the lead in the first half with a wonderful strike from 20 yards out with Al Habsi equalising early in the second half. Al Habsi then won a penalty late on, giving them a great chance to win the match, but Al Habsi smashed a powerful shot high onto the crossbar, the ball bouncing straight back out to safety.
In the older boys game, Al Habsi turned on the style to run out 4-1 winners but at least Pro11 scored the goal of the day with a great finish with just 5 minutes to go.
Can't wait for the next games, based on today's matches they will be entertaining and dramatic!
